What:
Is the stress of everyday life wrecking havoc in your work and home life? How we choose to handle the onslaught of demands and decision-making strategies is the topic for an engaging workshop presented by Cascadia Center for Leadership on October 22, 2010. The presenter for the event is Bill Hefferman, the change and transition guru at Intel, and consultant for business organizations as well as leaders worldwide.
Hefferman’s workshop is based on numerous workshops and presentations he has delivered for the Intel Corporation, and for other groups outside Intel. He will share some practical tools and tips from leading-edge neuroscientists and psychologists for tapping into our innate capacity to survive and thrive through life’s constant stresses and strains.
“Bill’s knowledge and practical application of the research into resilience is terrific,” according to Roger James, co-director of Cascadia Center for Leadership and Gelinas James, Inc. “His work has made a big difference in the highly pressured and dynamic environment of Intel. Plus, he is really fun to listen to.”
Bill Hefferman, an organization development practitioner at the Intel Corporation, is well known for his expertise in organizational change management. Over the past ten years, Bill has taught and consulted widely on how organizations can implement change in ways that minimize disruption and resistance while fostering employee commitment, performance, and resilience. His comprehensive, practical models, tools, and methods draw on current findings from the fields of neuroscience, positive psychology, and human performance. He is particularly passionate about how we build and maintain our own resilience and positivity during challenging times and what we can do as leaders to help others do the same.
The workshop will be held on October 22 from 1:00-5:00 pm at the Humboldt Area Foundation, 373 Indianola Road, Bayside.
Registration is required at www.cascadialeadership.org or 707-442-2993 Ext. 313. The fee is $100 for the public and $85 for graduates of Cascadia’s Leadership Program.
