Rain Gardens Presentation
What:
Living Earth Landscapes invites the public to a free presentation about rain gardens on Saturday, February 27 from 12 to 1 p.m. at its nursery and water garden center located at 5307 Boyd Road (next to Three G’s Hay and Grain) in Arcata. Owner and licensed contractor Keith Hamm presents ways to design and install rain gardens in the home landscape. Learn how to turn “problem” areas into beautiful and functional features by applying a few basic principles. Topics will include: selecting the right plants; constructing buffer strips, swales, and French drains; permeable paving, soil retention and ground covers; and more.
