The Humboldt County Film Commission presents Park Ave Logger Friday, July 24, at 6 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. at the Arcata Theatre Lounge, 1036 G St in Arcata. Box office opens 30 minutes prior to screening, cost is $5 and is 18 and over, 17 and under with an adult.
Shot in Eureka, Big Bear Lake and Crestline California and Grants Pass, Oregon, Park Avenue Logger (1937) about a wealthy, aristocratic New Yorker, thinking his son Grant is a bit of a panty-waist, who decides to make a real man of him and sends him to work in a lumber camp to prove himself. Unbeknownst to the father, the boy is already a famous wrestler known as the mysterious Masked Marvel. At camp, Grant learns that someone is stealing from the company, uses his wrestling skills to battle thugs and irks the owner of a rival timber company. Starring George O’Brien, Beatrice Roberts and Willard Robertson.
