What:
Local painter Yvonne Kern and potter Kate Purcell are welcoming the public to their private workspaces on the weekend of June 6th & 7th, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., to observe and learn from two accomplished Myrtletown artists in action.
Kate will be demonstrating throwing pots on a wheel throughout the weekend at her Myrtle Ave studio, 2572 Myrtle Ave, Eureka. Kate’s pottery has been decorating the lives and homes of Humboldt County for many years. Her work can be found at galleries and art fairs both locally and nationally.
Yvonne has been painting for more than 25 years and has pieces in art collections throughout the United States. Weather permitting, she will be demonstrating at her secluded garden studio, at 1094 Vernon Street, Eureka, her process of moving from a photograph and watercolor sketch to an oil painting. In addition, she will be exhibiting new paintings that have not been seen by the public.
Both artists will be offering unique and affordable pieces that are only available during the North Coast Open Studios event.
