Friday August 20, Persimmons Garden Gallery presents Out of the Blue with Beth Wells on vocals, Peter Weissman on bass, Gene Brown on drums and Andy Barnett on keys and brass. Their tunes range from unique takes on well-known standards to jazz inflected originals, not to mention latin-laced grooves with a dash of funk. They even throw in some blues, salsa, cabaret and even polka. Beth’s versatile vocals backed by lush keys and spot-on percussion and bass make Out of the Blue a blast from above.
Also this weekend, on Saturday, August 21, Damien Roomets will sing and play a variety of musical styles on his dobro. Damien’s music is the perfect soundtrack for a lovely evening at the Persimmons Garden Gallery, including food, wine and art. Both shows are 6:30 to 9:30. Call 923-2748 for information.
