Online Technology Boot Camp
What:
The SBDC Online Technology Boot Camp is headed to Eureka on Oct. 6 to share the latest advancements in online technology with local entrepreneurs and small business owners. The event is a follow-up to the successful 2008 and 2009 Technology Boot Camps, and is designed to show business owners how to save thousands of dollars while maximizing efficiency and reaching more customers by using the latest web-based applications.
Presented by the North Coast Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the SBDC Technology Advisory Program (TAP), the 2010 Online Technology Boot Camp presents new material covering all aspects of “moving your business online”, with in-depth training on cloud computing services, free online technology tools, email marketing, website optimization, and using the latest social networking tools as part of an integrated marketing strategy. Participants will experience hands-on exercises and real-time demonstrations of the technologies being taught.
“Our previous Technology Boot Camps sold out,” said Michael Kraft, director of the North Coast SBDC. “There’s just no better investment of a day than coming to this compact workshop that gives you tons of free and cheap technology tools to help you run your business,” Kraft said.
The business application for the Online Technology Boot Camp ranges from service industries and professional services to light, high-tech manufacturers and restaurants. The program, which is updated annually to weave cutting-edge innovations into the curriculum, has captured international business audiences. In previous years the Technology Seminar has been taught as far away as New York, Puerto Rico and China.
The Online Technology Boot Camp will be held at the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center in Eureka on Wednesday, Oct. 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Registration is $45, and includes lunch. For more information, or to register for the conference, go to http://sbdctap.org/2010Bootcamp or call (707) 445-9720. Space is limited and pre-registration is recommended.
