Novel Rose Show

What:

This year, the June meeting of the Humboldt Rose Society will provide a novel opportunity for people to bring up to 10 single stem rose blossoms to the monthly meeting where they will be evaluated.  The judging rosarians (experts) will determine 5 of the best ones, and there will be some prizes awarded.

The blooms can come from miniatures, hybrid teas, floribundas, grandifloras–any kind of rose plant as long as the stem has only one blossom.  (You can carefully pinch or cut off the extra buds.)

Bring your roses in water in an appropriate-size container.  Single-stem vases will be provided for the display.  Part of this novel approach is that, as the rosarians make their decisions, everyone will learn what considerations are made when a flower is judged.

Come and join in the fun.  Bring 1 or 10 roses, or none, if you just want to observe.  The public is always welcome.  Refreshments will be served.

If there are questions about the meeting or membership, call 443-1284 or 442-1189.
