What:
“Hats Galore!” the history of women?s hats in California—with many examples to be displayed—will be the subject of Fern Cottage?s Mother?s Day Tea presentation, Sunday, May 9, by Pam Service, director/curator of Eureka?s Clarke Historical Museum. She will show hats from the Museum?s collection. Some will be on sale (and may be tried on).
This will be the fourth annual Mother?s Day Tea at the historic 146-year-old home of Humboldt pioneers Joseph and Zipporah Russ, outside of Ferndale. Members of Fern Cottage?s volunteer Docent Council.will bake cookies from original Fern Cottage recipes to accompany tea. Docents
will be stationed in several rooms to tell guests the history of the home which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Mothers? Day Tea will take place from 2-4 p.m. Tickets are $15. Reservations (required because space is limited) may be made by calling 444-8559 or by e-mail to: info@ferncottage.org.
