Morris Elementary School Fundraiser: Bust the Budget Cuts

What:

Morris Elementary School’s annual fundraiser, Bust the
Budget Cuts, will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 9 at Cher-Ae Heights
Casino offering dinner, auctions and live entertainment.

Organized by Morris parents, the event is for ages 21-and-over.
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the door or by calling
599-5787.

Dinner will be provided by the casino while dessert is crafted by Mad
River Farm, the folks known for their whole-fruit jams and jellies.
Diners will be entertained by dancing from Samba Na Chuva and music by
the Pilot Rock Ramblers. Rex Bohn will oversee a live auction while a
silent auction fills out the evening. Guests will each depart with $10
in free casino credit for use that night.

All proceeds will be donated to the Morris Parent Teacher
Organization. This year’s fundraising goal is to pay for new computers
in the school’s technology lab, continue funding for student support
services in the library and cover the school’s Artist in Residence
Program.

Last year’s accomplishments include restoration of the school’s
computer instructor, elevation of its music program, expansion of
tutoring for mathematics and professional growth opportunities for
teachers.
