Mateel Black and Red Ball

What:

On Friday, January 28th, the Mothership will land in Redway once again as the Mateel Community Center welcomes back legendary funksters, George Clinton & Parliament/ Funkadelic to the Black & Red Ball.  Guaranteed to be another marathon evening of cosmic funk featuring more than 30 costumed musicians orchestrated by the one-and-only George Clinton (aka Dr. Funkenstein), their last performance at the Mateel was truly one of the greatest shows the venue had ever seen and this performance is sure to be another one for the history books.

As a special treat, the evening will also celebrate the annual Mateel tradition of the Black & Red Ball, which sees attendees and the hall dressed up in these namesake colors.  So dig out your finest and funkiest Black & Red attire and be sure to get your tickets before this show sells out. Tickets are on sale now at the usual local outlets and online at www.mateel.org for an advance price of $50.  Tickets at the door will be $52 if available.  2011 Mateel members receive a $2 discount.  Doors open at 8pm with beer, wine, gourmet snack foods, desserts, and refreshments available.  For more information visit www.mateel.org or call 923-3368 and don’t miss the Mateel Community Center’s Black & Red Ball with George Clinton and Parliament/ Funkadelic on Friday, January 28th.
