Marketing Your Business Through Social Media

What:

As part of its ongoing series of informational workshops for members of the local business community, the Eureka Chamber of Commerce will present detailed information on how businesses can increase sales and visibility through the use of social media.

“It is a growing trend around the Country,” said Chamber CEO, J Warren Hockaday.  “Businesses are keying in on the valuable opportunity that internet based marketing offers through such vehicles as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and Myspace.

Presenter, Bob Morse of Morse Media presents a framework for understanding social media and offers specific guidelines for making the best uses of the most common tools for promoting a business. The workshop is designed to be of interest to those who have not yet used these communication tools as well as those who want to expand internet-based marketing and research efforts.

“The basic idea is to help members learn to get the maximum benefit from social media opportunities as a way of engaging existing and prospective customers in conversation.  Social media communications is and will continue to be a powerful tool in any business marketing strategy,” Morse said.

The workshop is the latest in a series of eight business sessions aimed at providing valuable technical assistance in such areas as labor law and Disabilities Act compliance, news media relations and updates on Chamber activities and efforts in the community.

Admission for the Breakfast Seminar is $25 for Chamber members and $35 for those not yet a part of the organization.  The interactive session begins at 8:00AM on April 30, 2010 and concludes at10:30AM at Eureka’s Red Lion Hotel, Humboldt Bay Room.  A breakfast buffet is included.  Please call the Chamber for reservations or more information.
