Madaket Godwit Fundraiser

On Saturday, August 27, join leader Chet Ogan for a fundraising tour on the Madaket. Proceeds of this birding trip on Humboldt Bay will benefit the nonprofit Godwit Days organization. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased by calling 707-826-7050. The trip will leave at 3:45 p.m. and return at 5:20 p.m. One serving of local wine or beer is included in the ticket price; a no-host bar will be available. The Madaket is the oldest vessel in continuous service in the United States, boasts the smallest licensed bar in the state, and is a California historic vessel. Here’s a chance to view migrating shorebirds and other species while helping to fund next spring’s birding festival (April 19-25 at the Arcata Community Center).
