DJ Marlon Bizzy has music flowing through his veins. Born in Spanish Harlem and raised on the upper west side of manhattan, Marlon was already listening to Mr. Magic Rap Attack on the radio, recording hip hop jams and learning how to break dance at 9 years old. By 13 he was playing with his brother’s dj equipment, watching DJ’s spin records at family events and leafing through his parents’ collection of Latin jazz, salsa, disco, and rock n roll records. As an artist he brings a natural charisma to the stage that entices partygoers and music rivals alike. He is a musician meets politician, a crowd favorite who feels his audience and delivers hard. Today, if he’s not busy developing a killer catalog of mixed cd’s from different genres and time periods, Marlon’s controlling the decks at one of NYC’s hot spots or could be spinning for movie premieres, screenings, and awards shows. Some of his recent projects include covering the screening for “The Wrestler”, “The Hangover”, “Obsessed” and the “Fade to Black” “Jay Z Movie premiere. While Marlon grew up loving everything about Hip Hop, he knew that being able to spin Disco, 80’s pop, Rock, Funk, Soul, Salsa, Reggaeton, House, Dancehall, R&B and more would open more doors for him as an artist and give him an edge over most of the competition. It’s refreshing to see an artist play such a variety of music and manipulate each genre with precision, skill, and fluidity. Although he has evolved with the times and knows how to execute digital technology, Marlon still loves the organic sound of a record. He still buys and appreciates vinyl and is still thrilled to find an original pressing or a rare record in a pile of hundreds. At the end of the day it’s Marlon who says it best, “I’m not a model, my family isn’t famous or on TV, I don’t have a trust fund or a big PR company behind me… at least not yet…but I have heart for my craft, I know my music and my strengths, and I have been told that I can rock a party.” DJ Marlon Bizzy is one of a kind. His talent is unprecedented and his skills are contagious. If you don’t already know him, you will, because he will bringing down the house at a venue near you for years and years to come.
