Ladyfest Northwest is part of a tradition of grassroots-organized festivals showcasing the talents of women artists. The first Ladyfest took place in Olympia, WA in 2000. It was a woman-organized event with music, art, workshops, and panels featuring female bands and artists. The original event raised over $30,000 for women’s charities and motivated women around the US and in Europe to start their own Ladyfests.  Ladyfest Northwest is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization to both showcase women’s artistic expression and share ideas through a series of performances, films and public arts. Proceeds of the events and the drawing will benefit local women’s organization, Humboldt Domestic Violence Services. The intent is to create awareness and education regarding women’s issues and to support organizations fighting to improve the status of women worldwide as well as next door. Ladyfest Northwest is scheduled to take place Friday, April 30th through Sunday, May 2nd, 2010. There are over a dozen bands traveling from all over the north west to perform here.

Thank you so much! We look forward to hearing your response!
