Kids Dunes Walk
What:
Parents or caregivers of babies, toddlers and preschool aged children are invited to a free walk at the Ma-le’l Dunes in Manila on Friday, July 23 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. Meet at the Ma-le’l South parking area, off Young Lane and caravan through two locked gates to the site.
Come join a Friends of the Dunes naturalist for a kid-friendly exploration of this dunes unit of the Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Bring insect repellant, sunscreen, a hat, water and snacks. Sponsoring the dunes walk is North Coast Parents (NCP), a local grassroots organization that was created 20 years ago to serve as a support group for parents of babies, toddlers and preschool-aged children. NCP offers activities, small play groups, field trips, and meetings in safe, nurturing environments that provide socialization for young children and their parents. Also offered is a babysitting co-op, parents’ night out events and meals to new parents. A monthly newsletter listing NCP activities and family-oriented community events is sent to members. Summer membership is $20 and annual membership is $35 . Scholarships are available.
