KEET-TV’s Spring Auction

What:

Get ready for guilt-free and gas-free shopping that supports our local public television station’s programs and services. KEET-TV’s Spring Auction will be broadcast on KEET-HD, Channel 13, from 6:30 to 11:00 p.m. on May 24, 25, 26 and 31 and on June 1 and 2.  Twice a year, hundreds of local businesses generously donate merchandise and gift certificates to support the only public television station operating between Medford and Santa Rosa. This fundraiser gives viewers the opportunity to call in and bid on items ranging from weekend getaways to home improvement supplies from the comfort of their own homes.

“For years, KEET’s annual televised auctions have provided needed funds to continue broadcasting quality public television programming from Sesame Street to FRONTLINE on Channel 13, and now we are fundraising for our additional channels, KEET World and KEET Create,” said Ronald Schoenherr, KEET Executive Director.  “Our dedicated community helps keep these programs on the air by volunteering as auctioneers, camera operators and floor directors, and by manning the phone banks.”  Some of the auction volunteers appearing on the small screen this spring will represent organizations and businesses such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Blue Lake Casino & Hotel, Coast Central Credit Union, Northern California Blood Bank, Humboldt Roller Derby, Six Rivers Masonic Lodge and Volunteers of Redwood Memorial Hospital.

Viewers can support public television while they bid on items such as: Pink Sapphire & Diamond Ring from Graystone Jeweler’s, a Date Night Package from Blue Lake Casino & Hotel, a Weber Propane Gas Grill BBQ from Schaffer’s Ace Hardware, a Radisson Hotel & Pier 39 Family Fun Pack in San Francisco, a BMX Bike from Pacific Outfitters and 200 Gallons Propane Delivered from Amerigas.

Many local businesses support KEET-TV by providing goods, services and gift certificates including: Abruzzi, Arcata Artisans, Arcata Exchange, Antich Automotive, Baroni Designs, Big Louie’s Pizzeria, Carolyn Janssen, R.N., CartriCharge Imaging, David Kelley Woodworking, Eureka Floor Carpet One, Fire & Light, Green’s Pharmacy, HealthSPORT, Hellerwork, Holly Yashi, Hum Spa, Mirador Glass, Moonstone Grill, Plaza Chiropractic, Plaza Grill, The Tides Inn, Chris Wisner Photography and many more local businesses.

With almost $60,000 in merchandise, there is something for everyone. The complete list of items up for bid is available at www.keet.org.
