Headwaters Fund Public Forum
What:
The Headwaters Fund Board is holding a public forum on Thursday, May 27 beginning at 5:30pm at the Humboldt Area Foundation, 373 Indianola Road in Bayside.
The mission of the Headwaters Fund Board is to improve the economy of Humboldt County through funding community projects that have the greatest long term impact on economic growth. At this meeting, the Board shares how the Fund is evolving, describes recent challengess and shows how they are responding to these challenges. The Board is also seeking community feedback regarding grant evaluation criteria.
Over the past six years, the Headwaters Fund has awarded 56 grants, infused over $11 million into our local economy, leveraging more than $25 million in other funds, while increasing the Fund by over $3 million to a current balance of $21 million.
New grant applications will be available at this meeting and online after May 27th at www.theheadwatersfund.org. The Headwaters Fund Board has allocated $210,000 in grant funds for the 2010-11 year. Grant application deadlines are July 1, 2010, October 1, 2010, and February 1, 2011.
