Headless Cross Tour
What:
The Headless Cross Tour with the Tony Martin Band, Siva Addiction, and Curse Icon perform Saturday, July 11, at Arcata Theatre Lounge, 1036 G St in Arcata. Doors open at 8 p.m. Cost is $32 at the door, $29 in advance and is 18 and over.
The Tony Martin Band as Headless Cross headlines this tour commemorating the 20th Anniversary of Black Sabbath’s album Headless Cross. Tony Martin was the voice that breathed new life into Black Sabbath from 1987-1997. Spanning 10 years and writing along side Tony Iommi, Cozy Powell, Geezer Butler, Neil Murray, Eddie Van Halen, and Bill Ward. Creating albums like “Headless Cross” “Tyr” “Cross Purposes” and “Forbidden”. They plan to perform some of the songs that had previously never been done live like Black Moon; “It’s a really complex track but we’re gonna bring it to the stage and show it off. Also we’ve just left behind the anniversary of Eternal Idol, so there’s gonna be some more off that album too like Born To Lose.” - Tony Martin
Siva Addiction, an American hard rock band out of Oklahoma City that is grouped with bands like Disturbed, Drowning Pool, Mudvayne and Evanescence. Siva’s heavy but not too heavy. Easily falling within the confines of radio-friendly song lengths, hovering around the four-minute mark, this five-piece packs plenty of interesting hooks showing comprehension of musical dynamics, building up before rocking out. Siva’s lineup includes Bridgette Oliver as lead vocals, Bryan Jackson on guitar, David Bittle on guitar, Brian Shafer on bass and Brandon Fields on drums. Collectively, Siva is poised to blow people’s heads off with aggressive beats, solid rhythmic bottom end, monster riffs and powerful vocals.
*Fans and media have praised Curse Icon for their distinct melding of elegantly haunting melodies, captivating vocals, and pounding rhythm. They are a dark-edged power group whose essence is defined by dynamic vocals and rich sonic textures. With a unique style that bridges alternative, metal, and industrial genres, they shine in an otherwise bleak wave of today’s prepackaged music. Their songs are melodic and structured, embracing lyrics as a focal point. From the ambitious sensibility of “Broken”, to the melancholy surmise of “Down”, they have found a niche that sets them ahead of the curve. It’s their powerful live show, however, that burns a lasting impression upon the audience’s mind. They are high-energy, engaging, blissfully entertaining and will take you from heaven to hell in under an hour. *
