The Humboldt Bay Center for Sustainable Living presents, Greening Your Home starting at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at the Redwood Coast Energy Authority (RCEA), 517 5th Street, in Eureka.
Sean Armstrong and Heidi Benzonelli outline ways to take the average older house in coastal Humboldt County and do a green make over, prioritizing the most cost-effective measures.
A short PowerPoint, "Low-cost No-cost Do it Yourself Residential Energy Efficiency Improvements" considers energy savings and cost estimates for a typical, 1960's, Eureka home.
Sean is an expert on energy conservation measures specific to the coastal Humboldt climate. Since co-directing Humboldt State University's Campus Center for Appropriate Technology in 1999, Sean has continued to consult and work professionally in the green building field. He is currently President of the Board for the Humboldt Bay Center for Sustainable Living, the educational component of Humboldt Bay Eco-Hostel, and is employed as a Project Manager with Danco Builders.
Heidi is a graduate of the Environmental Resources Engineering program at Humboldt State University. She is presently employed by Redwood Coast Energy Authority and the owner of Real Solutions Energy Consultants, a local business focusing on residential energy efficiency.
This is the first of a series of second-Wednesday presentations to be offered by Humboldt Bay Eco-Hostel's Center for Sustainable Living.
This program is free and open to the public.
