Get Tuff a Dubstep/Electro Event

What:

GeT TuFF: An Electro Dubstep Dance Party

Helicopter Showdown, a collection of DJs, Producers, Networkers, and Visual Artists, presents!

The Get TUFF!!! monthly has been getting crushed lately by an onslaught of sub soldiers and returns to the Arcata Theater Lounge April 30 with the Bay Area’s leading female bass assassin, Ultraviolet! Backed with special guest Sam Supa! As usual the ATL will be transformed and equipped with plenty of visual assault to enhance the sound experience.

Ultraviolet

Ultraviolet (Redline/Stateside Dubstep SF) heads up the fab 3-year-old RedLine dubstep collective, and has been bringing her immaculate technique and overflowing energy to the decks in San Francisco since 1997. She was a seminal player in the drum ‘n bass and breakbeat scene, as part of the Sleeveless collective. As a true vinyl fetishist, she was being booked at the tender age of 18 to play jungle at underground ’90s raves and played a part in the Future Breaks FM on KUSF. Now, Ultraviolet reps the burgeoning dubstep explosion, producing tracks and bringing a touch of grimy glamour to the scene with the MakeOut Sessions, Stateside Dubstep and can be found DJing all over.

Sam Supa

DJ Sam Supa (Surefire/Brap Dem! SF) is a local pusher of Dubstep and other bass music. He has been playing records for years starting out in the early Rave and Breakbeat Techno days. Supa draws his influences from Dub, Lovers Rock, Hip-Hop, Metal and Jungle. He flexes on the decks dropping big tunes with classics in a dynamic mixing style. A Bay Area American Dubstep pioneer, he has had a guest spot with N-Type in the UK on Rinse FM and did it again in 2008 and to this day is one of the few Americans to play Rinse. He has played alongside many respected DJs and producers such as Hatcha, Youngsta, N-Type, Juju, Skream, Kode 9, Joe Nice, Mala, Caspa, Rusko, Headhunter, FlyLo, Plastician, and local legends such as Djunya, DJG and many more. He is co-founder of SUREFIRE PRODCUTIONS and has held residency at GRIME CITY the west coast’s longest running Grime and Dubstep night. Check out his new record label BRAP DEM! RECORDINGS and his recent productions on HOT N HEAVY RECORDINGS.
