Living Earth Landscapes invites the public to a free presentation on preventative and responsive methods for naturally controlling garden pests and diseases on Saturday, August 14 from 12 to 1 p.m. at its nursery and water garden center located at 5307 Boyd Road (next to Three G’s Hay and Grain) in Arcata. From deer, gophers, and birds, to slugs, insects and fungus, learn how to identify and prevent the most damaging garden pests and diseases. Topics will include the importance of timing, proper use of control products and devices, and getting assistance from wildlife to control certain pests.
