Fortuna Kids Holiday Movies

What:

The City of Fortuna and the Fortuna’s business community joins in the giving season. Over 90 Fortuna Businesses will be handing out hundreds of free movie passes for special children’s shows this December.  The Friendly City’s “Kids’ Free Holiday Movies” will be shown Saturday December 3rd and 10th at the Fortuna Theater.

Businesses big and small, more than 90 of them will have tickets to give out to loyal customers for their children and grandkids. The tickets admit children 12 and under and adults with young children for a special 10:00 a.m. show each Saturday.  For a complete list of participating businesses to shop and receive your tickets see the list at FortunaBusiness.com.

This event is made possible by the City of Fortuna, the Fortuna Business Improvement District, the Fortuna Business Community and the 2011 movie sponsors. We all encourage you to shop local and shop Fortuna this holiday season.

This year’s film for December 3rd will be “Bee Movie”. The second week’s film for December 10th will be “How to Train Your Dragon”. Last year’s film brought in just about 600 children and 200 + adults.

Organizers are asking that only one adult accompany young children and that families try to have groups of children come with one adult to allow more seats for kids.   There will be several adult chaperones at each show and parents can drop children off and pick them up just before Noon.

Tickets must be obtained while shopping at a Fortuna business for these special shows. No tickets are available at the theater.   The organizers also are reminding parents and grandparents this event is to encourage adults to finish holiday shopping in Fortuna while the kids are occupied with the movie.

For more information on Fortuna’s holiday movies contact the Fortuna Business Improvement District Office at 707-725-9261.  An updated list of participating businesses is available at www.FortunaBusiness.com.
