“For the Next 7 Generations”

The Eel River Valley 13 Indigenous Grandmother’s Council is pleased to offer a film screening of the internationally acclaimed movie “For the Next 7 Generations” at the Morris Graves Art Museum, 636 F St., Eureka on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. Suggested donation from $10 - $20 will be accepted. All proceeds to be donated to the International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers to support their quest for international peace.

“For the Next 7 Generations” documents the momentous journey of thirteen indigenous Grandmothers as they travel around the globe to promote world peace and share their indigenous ways of healing. Originating from all four corners, these wise elders, shamans and medicine women first came together in 2004 at an historic gathering in upstate New York. Moved by their concern for Mother Earth, they decided to form an alliance, The International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers. Facing a world in crisis, they share with us their visions of healing and a call for change now before it is too late. Through their teachings, they are lighting a way to a peaceful, sustainable planet.

Gentle Thunder will open the film screening fundraiser for the International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers movie “For the Next 7 Generations” with her musical prayers. Hailing from Mt. Shasta, CA, GRAMMY® nominated multi-instrumentalist Gentle Thunder will also offer her alluring alliance of grand hammer dulcimer and Native American flutes in concert on Friday, March 19th at The Arcata Playhouse, 1251 9th St., Arcata at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15, $10 for seniors and students, purchased at the door. Gentle Thunder is deeply dedicated to walking a path of beauty, honoring all life and bringing the vision of wholeness to all she does.
