Scholastic Chess Tounament
What:
On Saturday, May 14, 2011, Jacoby Creek School in Bayside will host its Spring 2011 scholastic chess tournament. All students from Kindergarten through High School, in Humboldt and neighboring counties, are welcome to compete as individuals and as school teams. Young players are especially encouraged to join us. Spectators are welcome.
Registration takes place from 9:15 to 9:30 a.m. Players will be matched with others close to their own skill level in each of the five rounds, with no elimination. The awards ceremony will follow the final round. The tournament is expected to conclude at about 2:30 p.m.
Pizza and snacks will be available for purchase on site during the tournament. Tournament fees will be collected at the door. Pre-register by May 13 to reduce the cost to $10.
