Sunday, November 8, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Family Herp Day - Reptiles and Amphibians of the Arcata Community Forest

Conservation Unlimited (a local club out of the HSU Wildlife Department) will be offering a free educational walk in the community forest aimed at learning about and inspiring interest in reptiles and amphibians.  Participants will learn proper handling techniques and then go on a hike through the community forest, searching for any frogs, lizards, salamanders, snakes or other "herps" to be found.  The focus will be on learning to identify, as well as, recognize some of the amazing adaptations herps have and the importance for their conservation.  Participants are encouraged to bring local reptile/amphibian guides if they have them.  Meet at the Union Street entrance to the Arcata Community Forest.
