What:
AkaBella and SongCorps will be presenting a holiday show called “Solstice Songs” on Wednesday Dec. 16 at 7pm at the Arcata Presbyterian Church. We will be singing winter carols and holiday favorites from around the world, including some awesome new arrangements (and instruments) that wont be heard again till next winter. General admission is $5 and kids 10 and under are free.
The show will benefit AkaBella’s new Ink People program, SongCorps, which strives to bring more multicultural vocal music to the local schools and community. Proceeds will specifically fund AkaBella’s June 2010 research and performance tour of the Southern United States, where we will explore traditional American songs to bring back to the local community.
Thanks in advance for helping us to get the word out about this show.
Radio people, please spin and plug us (or I will be forced to accost you during in-store broadcasts or call you up on the studio telephone with the answer to a quiz). I am down to give away some will-call tickets on-air if anyone is interested.
