Arcata Playhouse presents a Balkan inspired music and contemporary Belly Dance extravaganza with Portland’s Revel Me! and local community brass band Bandemonium and dancer Shoshanna on Wednesday, April 28 at 8:00 p.m.
Musicians from The Underscore Orkestra (Balkan, Klezmer, Gypsy Jazz & Swing both traditional and original) and Contemporary Bellydancers Danielle Smith (Znama Dance Company) and Bevin Victoria are joining to create their newest project, Revel Me! Influenced by sounds and movement from the Balkans, the Middle East, and Spain, as well as American and Gypsy Jazz, Blues, Swing and Klezmer, the artists craft a seamless show of syncopated rhythmic compositions and contemporary performance vignettes. Joining Revel Me! will be local brass band extraordinaire Bandemonium and Belly Dancing by Shoshanna.
