What:
QUAKE: A Closet Love Story is a hilarious and touching journey of one couple as they discover the similarities between being in love and being caught in an earthquake.
Inspired by recent local and global events, actor creators Tyler Olsen and Zuzka Sabata have created a new musical about a couple trapped in a closet after an earthquake. Completely cut off from the outside world, and without food or water, they are forced to rely on each other to survive, and in the process learn about themselves and the nature of love.
Filled with music, physical comedy and performed entirely within the confines of a small linen closet.
Written and directed by Tyler Olsen, and featuring the music of Daft Punk, Emiliana Torrini, The Bobs, Bob Schneider, and Britney Spears, QUAKE is performed by Tyler Olsen and Zuzka Sabata.
TYLER OLSEN is a graduate and former company member of the Dell’Arte Company, who has recently returned to Humboldt County after directing four other original productions in Berlin, Germany and Minneapolis, Minnesota. To date, he has written and produced 12 original productions, and has performed in productions all over the world, including the U.S., Canada, Germany, Denmark, and Sweden.
ZUZKA SABATA, of “The Tannenbaum Sisters,” is a graduate of the MFA program at Dell’Arte International, and currently serves as Community Coordinatorfor Dell’Arte. Zuzka has performed internationally and was featured as one side of the siamese twins in Crawdaddy’s Odditorium at the Playhouse last year.
