Little Did they Know…

What:

Dell’Arte’s MFA students present ‘Little Did They Know…’
An evening of theater inspired by the stories of Roald Dahl

Join the second year MFA students have taken seven of Dahl’s darkly comic stories, and woven them together in an evening of scenes, music and movement.

The stories they’ve adapted for the stage include: “Lamb to the Slaughter” (a devoted wife takes sudden revenge for her husband’s betrayal), “The Man from the South” (a strange bet between two men at a seaside resort), “Genesis and Catastrophe” (the birth of a small, sickly baby who will live to wreak havoc in the world), and “The Landlady” (an innocent young man wanders into the wrong boarding house…)

Containing eccentric characters, unexpected revelations, humor and mystery, Dahl’s stories provided the students with the challenge of taking an author’s voice that lives distinctly on the page and bringing it to life in the space of the stage. The resulting work is entirely ensemble devised, featuring a group of seven student actors from South Korea, Brazil, Canada and the U.S.

Join these dynamic ensembles as they explore artwork, poetry, character study and improvisation to bring these lively and moving stories of humanity and redemption to life.

“Little Did They Know… ” will run in the Carlo Theatre in Blue Lake,Thursday Friday, Saturday & Sunday, Dec 10 -13 at 8 p.m.  These performances are all Pay What You Can (PWYC) To reserve tickets call 668-5663 ext. 20 or buy online at www.dellarte.com. For mature audiences only.
