What:
The Messiah School of the Arts Choral Academy youth and adult choirs, directed by Donald Cushman, presents their end-of-the-year concert, “Jesus, Messiah: Love So Amazing,” on Mother’s Day weekend at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1200 Central Avenue in McKinleyville. The concert will include classical choral works such as Bach’s “Sheep May Safely Graze” and Handel’s “Glory and Worshp;” traditional hymns and spirituals; contemporary works such as “You Raise Me Up,” “Not Guilty” (with soloist Sue Harper), and “Nothing Can Separate Us” by Mark Hayes; and the children’s favorite “This Little Light of Mine.” Angela Burkhart will accompany on the piano, and Dan and Kathleen Ely will provide instrumentals. There is no charge for the concert; a freewill offering will be taken to support the children’s and youth programs. Saturday, May 8th concert time is 4:30 pm.
