NORTH COAST REPERTORY THEATRE PRESENTS “HIDDEN IN THIS PICTURE” BY AARON SORKIN
The North Coast Repertory Theatre continues its 26th Season with a special one-weekend-only production of the hilarious one-act play Hidden in This Picture. The play runs Friday and Saturday, March 5 and 6, at 8pm; and on Sunday, March 7 at 2pm.
Written by Aaron Sorkin, author of A Few Good Men and of television’s The West Wing, the play tells the story of Robert and Jeff, two old friends who are taking their theater partnership (Jeff writes the plays, Robert directs them) to the big screen in their first-ever film. They’ve saved filming the final and most important scene of the movie for last; a complicated outdoor sequence involving hundreds of extras portraying disillusioned marines jogging at sunset. All is going seemingly well, until suddenly yet slowly, three cows walk directly into the shot. This causes Robert and Jeff to question their work, their relationship, the artistic health of contemporary filmmaking, and the ethics of shooting cows with firearms.
Hidden in This Picture features veteran local actors Victor Howard, Brian Walker, Dmitry Tokarsky and David Hamilton. “We are very fortunate to have these actors working on this project,” says NCRT’s Artistic Director Michael Thomas. “They are all excellent on stage. This is a great beginning to what we hope will be an expanded second stage presence here at NCRT.” Second stage productions are offered outside the regular season and may consist of one night or one weekend offerings of plays, music, play readings, etc. “It’s a bonus for our season ticket holders—second stage productions are free to them,” adds Thomas.
NCRT is located at 300 Fifth Street, Eureka. Tickets are $8.00 for all seats. For reservations, group rates, or more information, please all 442-NCRT. www.ncrt.net
