In keeping with the earth-friendly theme of this performance, join us in helping with the oil clean up efforts in the Gulf of Mexico. Bring old ballet tights and leotards to our collection site in the lobby at the performance. These will be shipped off to the gulf and used to help soak up the oil spill.

For the second year, Dance Class with Erin Fernandez will provide an afternoon of carbon neutral entertainment at JVD, by setting up the use of carbon neutral tags. Estimating the fuel emissions of our vehicles and the energy costs associated with running the show at Van Duzer, we will make our Spring Production a truly unique, carbon neutral event.

A carbon offset is an investment in clean energy. It works to replace traditional polluting sources of electricity with clean, secure, and sustainable sources of energy that come from solar and wind power generated across North America.  As these renewable energy projects produce clean energy, we are helping to fight global warming by reducing our dependence on fossil fuels. This results in less carbon dioxide released into the environment and a smaller carbon footprint those attending and performing in Enchanted.

For more information about carbon offsets visit www.b-e-f.org

From the Director, “The teachers and I are so excited about Enchanted! The dances are coming along and each student has a CD to practice with at home.” It is truly a community event, thanks to all the energetic parents and friends who are building set pieces, costumes and helping with all the behind-the-scenes preparations to put together a production such as Enchanted.
