DIRT! The Movie ~

By Bill Benenson and Gene Rosow

It¹s under our feet. But what is it? And how did it get there? Inspired by William Bryant Logan¹s acclaimed book Dirt: The Ecstatic Skin of the Earth, directors Bill Benenson and Gene Rosow take a critical look at our complex relationship with dirt and the solutions to restore this vital natural resource. Get the “dirt” on how industrial farming, mining and urban development has led us toward cataclysmic droughts, starvation, floods and climate change

First Thursday Film Night, as part of larger project, ITVS COMMUNITY CINEMA, is a monthly screening series showcasing the Emmy Award-winning PBS series Independent Lens. Presented in partnership with KEET TV and the Morris Graves Museum of Art, ITVS COMMUNITY CINEMA aims to build connections among diverse communities, public television stations and leading community organizations working on a range of important social issues.
