*Bring Your Own Seat Series * is pleased to present Short Stories: 28 dances / 28 minutes. This performance of 28 one-minute pieces brings a variety of modern based choreography/performance to Arcata.

Sixteen choreographers accepted the challenge of composing dances or performances within a 1 minute limitation. This concept is based on the idea of a performance laboratory. The minute will allow choreographers to try out new ideas without the constraints of making a longer piece. It will allow them the freedom of experimentation without the commitment. It also enables the audience to view a variety of work, enjoying the tasty nougats of the originating idea behind a piece.

The Pan Arts Studio will be set up with the audience on 2 sides of the performance space. This will create a unique viewing situation for the audience and an additional challenge for the choreographers.

The choreographers in this showing are: Lela Annotto, Jandy Bergmann, Shelly Brantigan, Sharon Butcher, Leslie Castellano, Stephanie Carter, Sequoya Cross, Jennifer Dixon,

Bonnie Hossack, Katie Kanzler, Carrie Maschmeier, Laura Muñoz, Nicholette Routhier,

Lisa Townsend-Schmitt, and Stephanie Silvia

Short Stories: 23 dances / 23 minutes. Friday, February 10th at 8:00pm; Saturday, February 11***th* at 8:00pm. Tickets available at the door: $5.00 anyone. The Pan Arts Studio is located at 1049 Samoa Street, #C, Arcata; (the blue warehouse at the intersection of Samoa and K Streets).
