Early Dementia Diagnosis and Treatment Conference

Saturday, March 13, 2010. The Humboldt County Dementia Care Coalition hosts a six-hour training at the River Lodge in Fortuna focused on early dementia diagnosis and treatment, management of behaviors associated with dementias and tools for helping the medical professional improve their care of people with dementia and their families on the north coast. 

Dr. Ladson Hinton, from UC Davis Medical School in Sacramento will discuss initial diagnosis and ongoing behavioral management of dementias. Supervisor Bonnie Neely, Dr. Ann Lindsay and Allan Katz will speak to what caregivers need from their physicians and Betsy Stapleton will share what patient centered care means for those treating people with dementia.

If paid by March 5, dementia conference registration, which includes lunch and materials, is $35, with an additional $25 for continuing education. Physicians and mid-level practitioners who are members of the Humboldt – Del Norte Consortium for Continuing Medical Education pay only the registration fee.  Registration the day of the event is $45, with continuing education costing $35.  For more information, call Kraft at 707-444-8254, ext. 3202.
