The Humboldt County Youth Driving Coalition and Rio Dell Police Department is proud to present Drive Safe- Drive Smart: A FREE event for teens and their parents at the Rio Dell Volunteer Fire Department, 50 West Center Street in Rio Dell on Wednesday, August 17, 2011. Free pizza, beverages and door prizes will be provided. Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of injury and death for young people in Humboldt County, and the Coalition wants to put an end to these preventable tragedies.
Join the California Highway Patrol, DMV, Rio Dell Volunteer Fire Department and other local driving safety experts to learn about how to get a provisional driver license, new laws for young drivers, how and where collisions occur, and safe driving tips. Rio Dell Fire Department will demonstrate the “Jaws of Life.”
Please join us at this special event- All teenagers and their parents are warmly welcomed!
