Unity of the Redwoods is pleased to announce that renowned artist, Michael Garibaldi Frick, will bring his inspirational public art exhibit called The Dialogue Project to Humboldt County. The exhibit will be erected at the Gazebo Plaza area in Old Town Eureka on August 30th and 31st with a documentary screening topping off the event.

The Dialogue Project consists of nine large panels on which quotations from famous and not-so-famous people throughout the ages are printed. Each of the two-sided panels offers a different theme. The effect is the realization that while wisdom has been handed down to us, we tend to become too busy in our everyday activities to take the time to seek it out and absorb it.

The Dialogue Project is intended to:

* Generate personal inspiration and reflection
* Enliven our public spaces
* Promote literacy and education awareness
* Create new avenues and audiences for public art
* Provide the mass media with a positive, inspirational story
* Help advance communication between people of diverse backgrounds
* Spark meaningful, deep conversations among viewers

A documentary of the creation process and the national tours of The Dialogue Project will be screened at Unity of the Redwoods at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 31st following the exhibit. The location of the film screening is 1619 California Street, in Eureka. Tickets will be on sale at the door for a donation of $5.00 per adult, $3.00 for students.
