“Democrat of the Year” Dinner
What:
Three of the four declared Democratic candidates for Congress in the newly redrawn second (North Coast) district will be in Eureka for the Humboldt County Democrats’ “Democrat of the Year” dinner on Friday, September 16.
Activist Norman Solomon will join Marin County Supervisor Susan Adams and 6th District Assemblyman Jared Huffman of San Rafael and approximately 200 local Democrats and supporters at the event. This will be an excellent opportunity to meet and hear from the candidates.
The dinner honors Debbe Hartridge and Ira Blatt, Esq. for many years of public service, including Ms. Hartridge’s work supporting women’s access to healthcare at Six Rivers Planned Parenthood and Mr. Blatt’s service as a board member of Redwood Legal Assistance and the local chapter of the National Alliance for Mental Illness.
The dinner is at the Eureka Woman’s Club, 1531 J Street, Eureka, with a no-host meet-and-greet at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are $65 in advance and $70 at the door. For reservations, call Democratic Headquarters at 445-3366 or visit their website at http://www.humboldtdemocrats.org
