Delta Nationals and Rooster McClintock

What:

Dance in the New Year with the Delta Nationals and Rooster McClintock at the Arcata Playhouse Honky Tonkin, Rock and Rollin’ and Swinging to the music of Delta Nationals and Rooster McClintock to ring in the New Year at the Arcata Playhouse. The Playhouse will be taking out most of their chairs and audience risers for a New Year’s Eve dance party that starts at 9:00 p.m. and continues until 1:00 a.m. Warm up your dance shoes for the Delta Nationals, Humboldt County’s finest dance band, as they showcase classic American music from the ‘50’s into the ‘70’s – rock and roll, Southern soul, swing, classic country and New Orleans rhythm and blues as they start out the evening. Then move over for the foot-stomping raucous sounds of Rooster McClintock as they roll down out of the hills and hollows of Humboldt County on a mission to save country music from itself. With influences like Merle Haggard, Bob Wills, Johnny Cash and the Flying Burritos Brothers, the Roosters will no doubt have the place jumping. “We are definitely thrilled to be hosting this fun party with both these bands and looking forward to breaking a sweat on the dance floor.” said Playhouse manager David Ferney about the show.  Doors open at 8:30 p.m. with music starting at 9:00 p.m. and continuing until 1:00 a.m. Tickets are $15 in advance and $17 at the door and are available at Wildwood Music and The Works. For additional information phone (707) 822-1575 or visit www.arcataplayhouse.org.   Rooster McClintock consists of Jake Wiegandt on lead guitar/vocals, Graham Burke on banjo/vocals, Nathan Benbow on drums/vocals, Paul “C.W” Calovich Jr. on bass/vocals, Jereme Stinespring on rhythm guitar/vocals and Donny Barnyard on pedal steel guitar. The Delta Nationals are comprised of seasoned Northern California music scene veterans, each having played for live audiences for several decades: Steve  Irwin, guitars and vocals, has played in Humboldt County with Buckshot, the NorCal Playboys, and Dave Trabue among others. His specialty is vintage country and Southern soul music, but he is equally adept at a wide spectrum of classic American music styles. His songwriting style includes these American music styles and touches of reggae, surf and Caribbean. He collects and plays vintage electric guitars. Ross Rowley, Ross Rowley, bass and vocals, has played with many Northern California bands with styles ranging from Top-40 country to contemporary pop,  rock & roll oldies to Chicago blues, including ventures in lounge acts and 80’s new wave combos. He is an accomplished lead and harmony vocalist, a tasteful “less-is-more” bassist and a talented songwriter. His “master of ceremonies” booming voice has earned him the nickname “The Voice of theRedwood Empire.” Dave Ryan, keyboards, acoustic guitar and vocals, has played with a number of Humboldt County bands including The Sunseed Band. Dave likes many styles, including early Beatles, jazz, Brazilian, and American pop.  Paul DeMark, drums and vocals, has played with many Humboldt County bands including Caledonia, Nighttrain and The Country Pretenders. He has also toured and played festivals with renowned blues musicians Sunnyland Slim, Mike Bloomfield, Eddie Cleanhead Vinson, Hubert Sumlin and Albert Collins.  He loves playing southern ‘60’s soul music.
