Dell’Arte 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award

What:

Dell’Arte will honor an American actor whose career embodies the heart of Dell’Arte’s work. In René Auberjonois’ formative years as a performer, he trained with Dell’Arte Founder Carlo Mazzone-Clementi at Carnegie-Mellon University and later worked with him at such prestigious theater companies as The Arena Stage and The American Conservatory Theater. But in the true spirit of “the actor-creator”, Auberjonois’ work has gone far beyond the influence of any particular teacher or coach. He is unique and memorable, as those willattest who have seen him in such films as Brewster McCloud, or Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, on stage with Kathryn Hepburn in Coco (for which he earned a Tony Award) or recently in television’s Boston Legal.

The evening begins with a catered dinner for 120, followed by a large-screen retrospective of the actor’s work in the intimate Carlo Theater. Premium items from the actor’s memorabilia collection will be auctioned at the screening. Auberjonois will answer questions and comment on the trajectory of his career. The event then expands to the Rooney Amphitheatre for the awards ceremony, silent auction, raffle and dancing under the stars to the sounds of The Joyce Hough Band.

There will be a Silent Auction in the Rooney Amphitheater for Star Trek memorabilia from Auberjonois’ private collection. There will also be a Raffle to win the distinctive voice of RENÉ AUBERJONOIS on your home answering machine. Among other film, radio and novels-on-tape credits, Auberjonois was heard in Disney’s The Little Mermaid animated films (receiving top billing as Chef Louis), the Butler in Joseph: King of Dreams and as The Skull in The Last Unicorn.

Tickets for the fundraising dinner and retrospective showing are $120 per person. Tickets for the outdoor ceremony and band are $15 each. Limited seating is available for the dinner, which requires advance reservations.
