Day of the Dead Exhibition

What:

Build your own altar, and view altars constructed by members of the community at the 5th Annual Day of the Dead Exhibition at the Ink People Center for the Arts, 411 12th St. Eureka. Individuals, groups, organizations and schools are invited to contribute their altars to the exhibition. The a festive opening reception on Saturday, November 7, 6-9 pm will feature a community altar, traditional dance, family crafts, and refreshments.

Information on the construction of contemporary and traditional altars, foods, and decorations is available on request, as well as a curriculum guide developed by the Mexican Museum of San Francisco.  These community events for all ages are a collaborative effort of volunteers, businesses and local organizations, including Humboldt Comunidad, Bayside Grange, Ink People Center for the Arts, Accion Zapatista, PARA, YES-Puentes and Rita’s Restaurants & Specialty Foods.  For more information on any of these events call 442-3320 or sguerra@humboldt1.com
