Fathers or caregivers of babies, toddlers and preschool aged children are invited to a free Dads and Kids Day on Saturday, July 17 from 11:30 am -12:30 pm at Fort Humboldt in Eureka, 3431 Fort Avenue.
Come fly with us! Dads will remember their paper airplane making days as they help kids make some airworthy creations. Meet at the picnic tables by the bathrooms.
Sponsoring the Dads and Kids Day is North Coast Parents (NCP), a local grassroots organization that was created 20 years ago to serve as a support group for parents of babies, toddlers and preschool-aged children. NCP offers activities, small play groups, field trips, and meetings in safe, nurturing environments that provide socialization for young children and their parents. Also offered is a babysitting co-op, parents’ night out events and meals to new parents. A monthly newsletter listing NCP activities and family-oriented community events is sent to members. Summer membership is $20 and annual membership is $35 . Scholarships are available.
