Community Pedestrian Safety Training
Monday, April 26th from 5:00pm to 9:00 pm At the Wharfinger Building, #1 Marina Way
The City of Eureka hosts a free pedestrian safety training workshop. This training teaches basic pedestrian safety best practices, includes a walkability assessment, and small group discussion. Come share your experiences, learn about options for change, and hear about what the City of Eureka is doing to facilitate pedestrian safety. The focus of the workshop is education and we are seeking your participation in the development of pedestrian safety advertisements. This training is open to the public and we would especially encourage teachers, group leaders and anyone who has responsibility for pedestrian activity to attend.
Representatives from the following agencies will be in attendance: City of Eureka Engineering Department and Police Department, County of Humboldt Departments of Public Health and Public Works, Caltrans District 1, and the Redwood Community Action Agency.
The training is being provided by California WALKS, UC Berkeley, Safe Transportation Research & Education Center, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety.
