Looking for some new reading material without spending much money? The Friends of the Redwood Libraries is holding a book sale on Friday, February 10, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, February 11, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the Eureka Main Library, 1313 Third Street, Eureka. Friday is for Members only, but you can purchase a year’s membership in the Friends for just $5. Saturday is open to everyone. The sale will include fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, records, audiobooks, and much more. The Friends just received a donation of twenty-eight boxes of video tapes of classic movies from literature and history, including eight versions of Shakespeare’s King Lear; movies about English kings and queens; and classics by Dickens, Steinbeck, London, and more. Dust off that VCR player and find some wonderful bargains! As always, all books, records, DVDs, and VCR tapes have been donated, all work is by volunteers, and all proceeds go to the Humboldt County Library. See you at the Library!
