Bocce Ball Courts Grand Opening
What:
McKinleyville - The McKinleyville Community Services District and the Mad River Rotary Club are excited to announce the Grand Opening of two bocce ball courts at Pierson Park in McKinleyville. The event will take place on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 12:45 pm at Pierson Park near the trailer and existing horseshoe pits located.
The new bocce ball courts are a result of a matching grant from the Mad River Rotary Club. Other funds came from Quimby Inland Park Dedication Funds, which come from developers who pay a fee in lieu of providing parks and recreation facilities when building new homes.
Local Bocce Ball players discuss rules and strategies of bocce ball and compete in a demonstration game.
