Blushing Barefoot Burlesque

What:

The Blushing BarefootBurlesque non-profit, performance group presents “All That Jazz Fundraiser” on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 6 pm at the Mateel Community Center in Redway.

“All That Jazz” is a 21 and older event inspired by the Roaring ’20s prohibition speakeasy including a full bar, live jazz era music, DJs, and a dinner catered by Amillia’s gourmet take-out restaurant in Garberville. The night kicks off with $100 buy-ins for a Texas Hold ’em poker tournament, made authentic by volunteer dealers from the Bear River Casino. A photo booth, silent auction, and Blushing Barefoot Burlesque merchandise will be available all night long. Closing the evening will be a special sneak peak show by the Barefoot Burlesque girls themselves * and* a chance to win an extravagant date with 1 of 3 handsome bachelors in our featured Date Auction. Eligible bachelors don’t be discouraged; a special surprise is in store for you too!

The Blushing Barefoot Burlesque ladies are 20 of Southern Humboldt’s talented dancers, artists, vocalists, and musicians. The recently formed group was created with the intent to bring forth self expression of the individual, and group, experiences shared by women living in the community. With a flare of humor, sensuality, and decadence, it will all be revealed in an extravagant performance set to take place on April 24th at the Garberville Theatre. Since the group is new, production costs currently exceed their budget, and all proceeds from the fundraiser will contribute to this very special spring event.

General admission for All That Jazz is $25 at the door, or $20 if pre-bought at following locations: The Works in Eureka and Arcata; Amillia’s & Back In a Flash in Garberville; Redway Liquor & Deli; Dig Music in Ukiah; and Leaves of Grass Books in Willits. $22 dinner tickets are sold separately. $100 poker buy-in receives free admission; tournament winner and 1st runner up receive fabulous prizes. No cash prizes awarded.

*The BBB * ladieswill be delighted to have you as their exclusive guest at this community event to remember.  Thanks to everyone for making this event possible through their time and donations.
