KEET-TV’s latest local production is BLUEPRINT HUMBOLDT, a four-part series addressing local sustainability issues involving alternative energy sources, food production, business strategies and community development.  KEET-TV is one of ten PBS stations chosen to receive grant funding to participate in WNET New York’s BLUEPRINT AMERICA “Livable Future: Local Solutions” project, reporting on local, state and federal efforts to create more equitable, convenient, greener, cleaner and healthier communities.

BLUEPRINT HUMBOLDT’s four half-hour programs will feature discussions led by local business, community and political leader, Julie Fulkerson.

On Friday, December 3rd at 9:30 p.m. the series will premiere with BLUEPRINT HUMBOLDT: BUSINESS.  In this program, Julie Fulkerson leads a panel discussion on sustainable business practices with Kit Mann of Kokatat, David Narum of GreenWay Partners, and Julia Peterson of the College of the Redwoods’ Clean Energy Workforce Training Program.

On Friday, December 10th at 9:30 p.m. the topic is BLUEPRINT HUMBOLDT: ENERGY. The program will highlight RESCO, the Renewable Energy Secure Community plan being developed by the Redwood Coast Energy Authority, the Schatz Energy Research Center and PG&E. Matthew Marshall of the Redwood Coast Energy Authority, David Rubin of PG&E and Jim Zoellick of the Schatz Energy Research Center will participate in a roundtable discussion.

On Friday, December 17th at 9:30 p.m. the topic is BLUEPRINT HUMBOLDT: FOOD PRODUCTION. The program will look at local farming practices from oysters to apples with Greg Dale of Coast Seafood, Jay Russ of Humboldt Grassfed Beef and John LaBoyteaux of Camp Grant Ranch.
