Dr. Stephen Bailey will be the featured speaker at a free public presentation sponsored by Redwood Region Audubon Society. The title of Bailey’s talk on Friday, Nov. 13 is “Unforeseen ‘World Big Year’ of Birding, the Excitement of an Obsession.” The lecture will be illustrated with spectacular pictures from Bailey’s quest to see more than 3,000 bird species – nearly one-third of the world’s total — in one year. Currently a part-time international birding tour guide, he formerly worked in California science museums and served as regional editor for the journal, American Birds. The program will start at 7:30 p.m. at the Humboldt County Office of Education at Myrtle and West Avenues in Eureka. Bring a mug to enjoy shade-grown coffee and come fragrance free.
