Big John Bates & the Voodoo Dollz (punk blues)

What:

March 2nd at Nocturnum, the punk-blues of Big John Bates & the Voodoo Dollz stretch the shadows out of the alleys and onto the stage for their first tour of 2010.  Ten years in the making, this world-renowned group unveils their latest show featuring songs from their newest album Bangtown (Rookie Records); where nighttime ladies hold their gaslight séances and Erte meets Alice Cooper.  Death is no excuse for missing the deadly combination of neo-burlesque fusions with retina-burning numbers!

Led by the guitar-wielding barker Big John Bates (“Alongside the Reverend Horton Heat as a voodoo guitarist to watch” -Total Guitar (UK), this musical harmonium is coming to grind you in their gears. With percussive hitman JT Brander on the skins, murderous bass from Katie Kerosine and eight months of touring behind them in 2009, musical mayhem is a guarantee!  And featuring burlesque showgirls Little Miss Risk and Lola Lockheart, the butterflies in your stomach will be knives. And, as an added bonus, medicine man the Reverend Deadeye will be joining them across the continental divide of the USA  -  putting the “cult” back into “culture”.  Shoot a Jager and get ready for the clockwork dance party to begin!
