Beaux Arts Ball Black and White Masquerade

What:
The Ink People Center for the Arts celebrates its 3lst birthday by throwing the Beaux Arts Ball, a black and white masquerade ball. The Ball, a fundraiser,
will be on October 16th from 8:00 p.m. until midnight at Redwood Raks World Dance Studio in the Old Creamery Building in Arcata. Admission is $10 at the door.
The Ball is a “holiday from color”. Guests must come in black and white attire: dressy, casual or costume. The evening will be filled with live music including: DJ Support Somali Pirates, Anthony Mankins & the Jazz Prophets, and Killbot Factory. There will be belly dancing with Mosaic Productions, aerial artist Jocelyn Rudig, jugglers, stilt walkers, hoola hoopers, a photo both and the Inky Fingers Bar.
Sponsors and businesses that have donated toward the event include American Hydroponics, Eel River Brewery, Robert Goodman Wine, Rays Food Place, The Co-op, Wildberries Market Place, Ramones Bakery, Cafe Nooner, and More.
The Ink People Center for the Arts was founded in 1979 and has served artists and the community since then. Ink People has hosted hundreds of projects including: DreamMaker Programs – self-directed projects to make the community a better place through art; Institute of Native Knowledge, Akabella SongCorps; Luna Kids and the MARZ project. Unfortunately, The Ink People lost its building after the January 2010 earthquake. Funds raised contribute to helping sustain our work and finding a new permanent space.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at The Ink People Headquarters at 517 3rd Street Suite 36 in Old Town Eureka. For more information, contact The Ink People at 442-8413, www.inkpeople.org or tanya@inkpeople.org.
